Is it possible to set all searches as all periods as a default, we spend hours searching the purchase ledger and everytime we go into it, we have to change the settings to be all periods, could this not be the default setting, across the board for all reports. its especially frustrating in August and September or year end.
Hi Jamie. Having all periods as a default is not an advisable option, as running enquiries like this can affect your system performance. So I'm afraid that option will never be reinstated.
We have recently added the option to link saved favourite enquiries to the Account Maintenance dialog for a given ledger. As an example, you could create a detail enquiry showing only open and disputed items and then link this to Account Maintenance so users could access it directly without the need to change periods.
We also added a 'Previous Year' option to the standard Period options to make life easier in September or at year end.
Hopefully these new bits of functionality will make life a little easier for you, but we'll also look at the option to save your previous period choice by default so that you don't have to make the same amendments every time.
