The description field is not long enough - even if you press F8 for more detail to be added, this is applied to the whole document, not individual lines, and for sales invoices cannot be seen by the customer
F8 will add comments at the document level, but if you press Ctrl + F8, this will add the comment to the individual detail line. Similarly, after the document has posted you can right-click on either the document header line or the individual detail lines to add comments. Hope this helps!
