Add a Preferred Gender Field and change the current Gender field to Gender At Birth

To get around the issue of Non-Binary pupils and use of gender neutral pronouns, our suggestion would be for iSAMS to create a new field in the Student Manager module called ‘Preferred Gender’ which can have 3 or more options. Then rename the existing Gender field ‘Gender at Birth’, which is what has to be reported for Census. If that could be done then the mail merge fields and other modules that use gender could all point to the preferred gender field, instead of the existing Gender field.

This would also solve the issue generated when we have gender changes from male to female or female to male.
