iParent and Parent Portal (Web) should work identically when it comes to information review and action modules such as Leave Request and Email History.
Currently the parents have to login to Parent portal on web to view email history or to submit the leave request or to view the status of leave request.
Most users are comfortable using iParent app as this gives them the opportunity to access the information quickly on fingertip.
I strongly believe that development team should take this into consideration.
