This year we had to assign codes to our rooms which are different than their original names, but our students and staff are used to using the original names. When I publish cover and room closure cover it displays the code instead of the name which is very confusing. We looked at the settings bud could not find anything that would set up the system so that on master cover, it would show the room name instead of the room code. Help desk confirmed that as of right now it is not possible.
Similarly, when I look at a teacher´s timetable through view teacher timetable, the rooms are shown correctly- that is with room names, but when I download the master spreadsheet that has all the timetables, in the spreadsheet the rooms are shown with the code and not with the name.
This is causing us no-end of problems this year because we have just opened a new school and all the room codes correspond to the site plans and contractor information, and are nothing like the room names as they have been allocated. It is creating so much time to add manually to cover emails. This needs to happen quickly!
In Timetable Manager you can edit the period box properties using the period box wizard. Could this be added to cover and the master spreadsheets?
I forgot to mention that this is going to be especially important during mock and other exams when we have a lot of room closures and the master cover timetable does not show the name of the new room that the students woud recognise.
