Literally the entire point of the iParent app is to have everything you get with Parent Portal, but mobile. I actually assumed this was already built-in, but when some users complained that they weren't receiving emails I took a look for myself.
To be clear; "EMAIL HISTORY" exists, but not "COMMUNICATION HISTORY".
EMAIL HISTORY contains only emails published to the portal/app via the "Parent Portal Manager -> Communications -> Create Email" section. A section I would wager is probably very rarely used, at least by most staff in any given school.
COMMUNICATION HISTORY includes everything sent via "Pupil Manager -> Email Wizard".
If Parents are relying on this tool as a primary point of contact/information, but they're not getting one of the main forms of communication we use, there's a good chance that they will miss something important.
I agree. Although Anna has replied that it's available, it only includes communication sent directly through Parent Portal. This isn't a feature we have used so I've reluctantly disabled this function. I would love it if the Communication History showed ALL iSAMS communication and therefore included Email Wizard communication via Pupil Manager (or other modules). After all, the parent doesn't know the path we are selecting to send them emails, so why would a distinction be made? Can't they have access to everything? This would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks for your suggestion. Communication History is already available via the new Parent Cloud Portal, which is fully mobile-friendly and can be accessed through any browser on your device. This allows parents to view past communications, announcements, and notices in one place.
