The school office often have to put present marks into iSAMS for students that are not in their normal lessons but are in school (mock exams, music lessons etc.) and unfortunately the teacher they should actually be with then goes over it with an "N" as they are not in front of them. This means more work as we then think the child is missing because their present mark has been overwritten. In the past we have used "local" codes, but due to new government codes we now cannot do this. It would be good for us to have the ability to put in registration marks which cannot be overwritten by teachers. Is this possible?
Thank you for your suggestion. We are currently in the process of developing an 'Out of Class' feature that would allow schools to mark students who are in school but not attending a lesson or only attending part of the lesson (in such examples as you have mentioned). The feature would mean that the teacher is aware that student is not in the lesson but allow the student to be registered as in school for the purposes of safeguarding. If this is something you would be happy to discuss further, please let me know and we can discuss requirements in more detail.
