Currently if a parent uses communication/leave-requests to submit a leave request they get times and an area to leave a note. We should be able to toggle this note field as being required.
Also, if a parent uses the Quick Action from the dashboard to submit a leave request they don't get times or the option to leave a note. The Notes field should be there.
I agree. It's important that both the form that appears in the 'Electronic Forms' section and the one that appears on the 'Quick Actions Link' are the same. If that's not possible I would like to be able to turn off the 'Quick Actions' version .
This is because the Quick Actions form doesn't ask for all the details that the full version of the form does. So on the 'Quick Actions' version there is no way parents can add text to the free text field to support their request or upload any supporting documentation. In operational terms this means that our Attendance Officer has to contact each and every parent to ask them for this information; thus doubling her work rather than reducing it.
It's operationally urgent that I roll out the Leave Requests, so would welcome a prompt review of this. Many thanks.
Absolutely agree with the need for parity between the Quick Actions Leave Request and the main Leave Request options in the Parent Portal. We rely heavily on the free form notes that parents leave to support their leave request. Subsequently we will have to work hard to encourage parents NOT to use the quick actions option and to use the full Leave Request feature via the main menu (as the Quick Actions cannot be disable). I am surprised by this design decision made by the development team.
