Students missing lessons due to other events in the school

We have a numerous occasion students missing academic lessons due various reasons such as for example: drama will be putting on a workshop for students to attend, there may be a debating competition, thus usual sport fixtures, music exams and trips to name a few. Not all of these events means the child will be away from school and so do not need to be marked out of school but teaching staff do need to be made aware that they will be missing their lesson.

Is there a way to make a double use of the out of lessons function so it does not interfere with the register and can make teacher know they will have students missing?

Thank you for your suggestion. We are currently in the process of creating an enhanced feature called 'Out of School' that will be designed for exactly the purpose you mention - when a student will not be in their timetabled lesson either for a regularly occurring event (like a music lesson) or for a one-off event like a music exam. This will be visible on the register for teachers to view (like the Out of School setup now) and it will use the registration present codes so schools can customise their registration codes to what they need. We will post updates in the News section of iCommunity in the coming months.

    Hi Claire,
We've created codes for Music, Drama, Other Activities on Site etc that map to the Gov Code "Present". It's not ideal, but they can be used in Out of School.
