Currently, the new Parent Portal dashboard only displays an overall "Out of School" percentage, which may lead to confusion among parents as it does not distinguish between authorized absences, unauthorized absences, and other valid reasons for a student's absence.
Would it be possible to customize the attendance percentages shown on the dashboard to provide a more detailed breakdown? Ideally, the display would include:
% Present
% Authorized Absence
% Unauthorized Absence
% Late
This would enhance clarity, especially since some authorized absences (e.g., sporting activities, educational trips, study leave) are currently categorized under "Out of School," even though they differ significantly from unauthorized absences.
This customization would provide parents with a clearer and more accurate understanding of their child's attendance.
