The ability to transfer Gradebooks between school systems as files or even CSV files etc. As many schools work as part of a network, they all do the same reporting and use lots of the same material. Currently, we are a network of three schools, and we are unable to transfer between the separate systems or copy from one system to another. This adds lots of work time for several individuals to create these individually on each campus, even though we have to design and have the same gradebooks in each school.
Being able to transfer, copy and edit Gradebooks from one system to another is like taking a document from one computer to another. This will be a huge step in making ISAMs more user-friendly, but also save a lot of time when creating things as well.
Many thanks and have a great week ahead.
Thanks for this, I look forward to this.
Kind regards
Mr Sean

Hi Shawn,
Many thanks for your email. When you mention Historical data, can you
please answer why does the data disappear from some of the old Gradebooks
when they have been archived?

Hi, Sean,
I just want to clarify a few things about what you're hoping to get out of iSAMS.
At the moment, we don’t offer a system that lets you copy grade books directly from one system to another. What we are building is a tool that allows schools to easily enter historic grades, GPA, and credits into Curriculum Manager. This lets current grades be calculated alongside existing historic data—something many schools in the Middle East use for transcript purposes.
That said, the system is primarily designed to support US GPA requirements, not standard reporting which is a requirement of many schools in the Middle East and Worldwide. In those cases, schools maintain a current year grade book that's separate from previous years. They enter an overall course grade by term into the current grade book for Reprorting, then import that into Curriculum Manager. From there, it calculates the grade / Grade point and combines it with the historic data already in the system for the Trancript
There is a way to set up a Curriculum Manager trial. It’s designed to help create and manage grade books using a more templated approach. Your best first step would be to reach out to your account manager. Also, if you check the iCommunity news page, we ran a webinar back in March that walks through all the features of Curriculum Manager and shows how to get started with a trial.
To access Curriculum Manager, you’ll need to submit a support ticket with the subject line CM Beta.
It’s definitely worth watching that webinar to get a good feel for how the module works and how it integrates into the wider system.
Let me know if you have any questions. Hopefully, we can get aligned and find the right solution for you going forward.
Hi Shawn,
I hope all is well on your side. We as a network of schools all use the
same grading scales for the Gradebooks and we hoped it would save us
administrators a lot of time if we could copy these across to each others
ISAMs. This is not specifically just used for transcript creation as the
grades we use here are for the entire reporting cycle and for publishing to
the Parent portal as well.
Is there a way to possible set up a trial with our network being able to
copy from one to the other to see the feasibility and ease of it?
Kind regards
Mr Sean

Hello,
This is a challenging one for us given the vast majority of our schools have different gradebook templates within the same school and teachers will apply unique assessments from class to class even within the same subject and year group.
That being said, can i ask if your requirements is specific to Transcript creation ? If so we are finalising work in Curriculum Manager to store grades and credits against courses to report on both current and historic grades within the pupils current School.
Thanks
Shawn
