It would be really helpful if parents can update their own contact details directly on their parent portal, which will then sync with the student manager module, rather than filling out a form which then we have to manually update their record in student manager. This would greatly reduce admin time spent updating student information.
Whilst we would like parents to check and update information, we'd want a mechanism where changes are submitted by parents and then a member of staff looks over it and approves it.
Doing this may not completely eliminate admin time on the school part, but should reduce it, and would be a better process.
In my experience letting parents update their details for it to update the system automatically can leave you with wrong formatting or information in the wrong place. Always best to be notified and update the system yourself.
I think this used to be possible on the old parent portal but not on the new cloud portal???
