Many pupils have their own specific medication (prescription medication) but currently we have to just put it in as a stock item with their name. This means that all of the stock and quantity features can be used.
e.g. John College - Ritalin 20mg
However this "stock" item should only ever be dispensed to that one person and currently makes a very long list.
It would be useful to make medication allocated to s specific person only and only able to dispense it to that person.
If they stock type was linked with supplier (i.e. Type: Ritalin, supplier: Pupil own prescription) and stock type could optionally be allocated to individuals.
It would also be helpful to include when the medication expires.
When medication is about to expire it would be helpful to have a reminder/alert to medical staff and/or an email to parents to let them know.
With this yesterdays news of "Benedict's Law", and the upcoming "requirement for each school to have a dedicated allergy policy.", there may be an increased focus on how we manage allergy/medical information for our pupils. Being able to have pupil's medication on their own record, rather than in a central/generic list, would help us have an overview of what we have for each pupil either by looking at their record or via a report that looks at their medical information.

We've recently upgraded to the Enterprise licence of Medical Centre, and would love to be able to add/manage/dispense pupil-specific medication stock levels as well as the more general stock of medication.
We can add pupil's medication onto their individual records, but can't add a stock level of it/dispense it.
