Currently if someone is in a team they can be given permissions to see the absence calendar for other members of the same team, however this won’t allow them to see a team calendar focussing on absences for any direct reports (staff they line-manage) who are in different teams. Being able to access a summary view of leave for direct reports may impact their decision to grant further leave to their staff.
We will usually only want the leader of a team to see the group calendar of leave for that team, rather than regular members.
Example 1: members of the leadership team don’t need to know who else is off in their own team (or reasons), but the people they line-manage could be heads of other teams.
Example 2: the CEO will want to see the absences for all other chiefs as a group; the chiefs will want to see the group absence calendar for their direct reports; the other chiefs don’t need to know who else within the chief team is on leave (or the reasons).
Note: a team leader (e.g. CEO) might have direct reports outside their own team as well, and those direct reports could be assigned to different properties. Being able to flip the group calendar between team-only, all direct reports, and direct-reports non-team would be the most flexible setup in this case.
