Currently, our school staff have to use separate systems (outside Every HR/SIMS) to request and authorise internal absences (e.g. for meetings with other staff, parents, students, assemblies, etc.) that shouldn't be included on their personal/general absence record, and shouldn't be included in school workforce census data.
SIMS allows us to record these types of absences as part of the cover module (for teachers and other staff who provide cover), such that they are considered a school-business-related absence that flags affected lessons for covering and blocks staff from being used for cover when not available. These absences can be reported on separately in SIMS (not included as part of the general absence reasons), and they are not included in census data. This would work perfectly for absences, such as TOIL, where no working time has been lost.
Having a separate absence tab group to request these types of absences would make the most sense. Being able to report on them within Every HR would also be useful.
