Optional Task Assignment in Task Templates
Business Need / Problem Statement:
When creating a Task Template, the system currently requires the task to be assigned to either an individual user or a user group. This mandatory requirement appears to conflict with the intended flexibility of templates, particularly for organisations that use templates as reusable checklists.
A common example is a new starter checklist within a school. The template is designed to be reused for multiple employees and, at the point of creation, there is often no specific assignee. Requiring an assignment within the template means administrators must either:
Assign the template to a placeholder user or group, or
Remove and reassign the task each time the template is used
This creates additional administrative overhead and reduces the efficiency of the template functionality.
Current Behaviour:
The "Assign the task to an individual user or a user group" field is mandatory when creating a Task Template.
