Being able to see headline details that your colleague/s are off work on a specific date/s would be helpful in terms of staff putting in holiday requests. i.e. if they know their colleagues are off on those days already, they might not be able to have it approved.
They wouldn't need to see any detail, or be able to click into the absence and find out what it's about, just to see if colleagues are off etc.
