In the job details section, it would be helpful to have a paid leave carry over field as well as the paid leave entitlement field. This will enable us to enter the employees standard paid leave entitlement without the need to adjust each year. We can add carry over days separately which will automatically be added to the standard. Currently, we have to manually adjust the entitlement to include carry-over days, which is error-prone and makes it difficult to track historical entitlements accurately.
I’d like to second the existing suggestion regarding carried‑over leave and expand on it further.
It would be extremely beneficial if EveryHR could introduce an automated workflow that sends any carried‑over annual leave to an employee’s line manager for approval at the start of the new leave year. This would help ensure accuracy, provide appropriate oversight, and support consistent governance across teams.
To strengthen this, it would also be useful to include:
A configurable maximum carry‑over allowance, set at Trust or school level
An automated notification to line managers when the new leave year begins
A simple approval/decline process, similar to existing leave request workflows
Automatic updating of the employee’s entitlement once approved
This would significantly streamline administration, reduce manual adjustments, and offer a clear audit trail—particularly valuable for MATs managing large staff groups and varying policy arrangements.
