This would be helpful for safeguarding reasons. Some parents may not be allowed contact with their child but, via the public calendar, could find out if their child will be on a trip outside of school. Also, general members of the public can view the website and also see where & when our children will be out of school, or events are happening in school, therefore allowing them to plan to gain access to the school. We have seen numerous incidents in the press involving random people gaining access to children for nefarious reasons. We want to keep our children safe, therefore we do not want to advertise our events/trips to anyone other than parents.
