The current merge tags are quite limited and can make messages difficult to word naturally. For example, when selecting the ‘Pupil Name’ tag, it automatically inserts both the first name and surname, which can make the message read awkwardly.
It would be much more useful to have separate merge tags for ‘First Name’ and ‘Surname’, giving users greater flexibility when composing messages.
The same issue applies to the ‘Parent Name’ tag. It would be helpful to have separate options for the parent’s first name and surname, as well as the ability to include their title (e.g. Mr, Mrs, Ms, etc.).
These options were available in the previous system and made it much easier to create personalised messages that sounded natural and professional. It would be great if this functionality could be reinstated.
I completely agree. To remove this in an upgrade is very much a backward step and we would like this reinstated as soon as possible please (preferably today!).
